Sora Union is a professional services company that works with companies, organizations and governments to deliver world-class design, localization and translation projects. These Services are performed by talented professionals impacted by, or at-risk of, displacement due to conflict or climate change, who are located in multiple countries around the world.
We collect information that our clients and individuals provide to us, including information provided via the forms on our Website or when interacting with us via email, a phone call, social media, or otherwise, and when obtaining our Services. Some of this information is personal information regarding an individual, including name, email address, and phone number. The information you provide is up to you. It is your responsibility to ensure that your information is correct, and we may rely upon that information being current in order to contact and work with you.
We also collect information obtained from your computing device(s) such as IP addresses, the type of browser and device you use, the webpage that referred you to our Website, and identifiers associated with your devices, as well as information obtained from cookies, tracking pixels and similar technologies, when you visit our Website. This information enables us to understand the performance of our Website. We may also collect this kind of information when you interact with email messages or other communications we send you. Some of these technologies (such as cookies) involve storing unique identifiers or other information on your browser or device for later use. We may collect location information, including your approximate location derived through IP Address when you access our Website or use the Services, as well as your precise or approximate location as determined by your device’s location services, subject to your device settings. We retain your information for only as long as we consider it necessary and relevant for our operations, and in accordance with applicable law. Under certain circumstances we may retain information, including personal information, to prevent fraud, collect any fees owed, resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems, assist with any investigation, comply with applicable legal data retention obligations and take other actions permitted by law. After it is no longer necessary for us to retain your personal information, we will dispose of it in a secure manner according to our data retention and deletion policies in effect at that time.

a. Email and telephone communications
You may use the unsubscribe link found at the bottom of emails we send to you to opt out of receiving future marketing emails. Note that you may continue to receive transaction-related emails regarding Services you have requested or engage with. We may also send you certain non-promotional communications regarding Sora Union and our Services and using the unsubscribe link will not halt those communications (for example, communications regarding our Services or updates to this Policy). We process requests to be placed on do-not-mail, do-not-phone, and do-not-contact lists as required by applicable law.
b. “Do Not Track”
Do Not Track (“DNT”) is a setting that can be enabled in certain web browsers. DNT signals do not have a commonly agreed up meaning and we do not currently recognize or respond to DNT signals.
c. Tailored advertising
The information we collect in connection with the Services may be used by us and by third parties to tailor the advertising you see online. You have choices about how information about you is used for this purpose.

We exist to provide a valuable service to you. We will not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes. We share the information described above as follows:
Internally. Sora Union employees and contractors can access information collected from and about clients and individuals in order to provide the Services. Our employees and contractors are contractually required to keep such information confidential.
Discussion Forum participants. If we establish a forum to discuss topics relevant to our mission, and an individual provides information in such a forum, such information is visible to other participants in that forum and may be used in other locations on our Website.
Service providers. We may share your information with third parties that provide business, professional, or technical support functions on our behalf, including by providing website and database hosting and maintenance, information security, fraud detection and prevention, email management, user authentication services, marketing and advertising, data analytics, and financial and legal services.
Legal matters and safety. Securing Your Information
We are committed to protecting the security of your information and take reasonable precautions to protect it. We use industry standard encryption to protect your data in transit. While we take efforts to protect the integrity and security of our network and systems, no security measures are perfect, and we cannot guarantee that our security measures will work perfectly.
We protect your information in our systems using physical, technical and administrative security measures to reduce the risks of loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure and alteration. Some of the safeguards we use are firewalls and data encryption, physical access controls to our data centers, and information access authorization controls.
If we learn of a system breach, we may attempt to notify you and provide information on protective steps, if available, through the email address that you have provided to us or by posting a notice on our web site and/or other communication platforms. Depending on where you live, you may have a legal right to receive such notices in writing.
You should take steps to protect against unauthorized access to your password and devices by, among other things, signing off after using a shared computer, choosing a complex and unique password, and keeping your login credentials private.
Information from Children
The Services are not intended for minors or children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children without parental consent. If we learn that we have inadvertently obtained information in violation of applicable laws prohibiting collection of information from children without such consent, we will promptly delete it.

California Residents: The California “Shine the Light” law gives residents of California the right under certain circumstances to request information from us regarding the manner in which we share certain categories of personal information (as defined in the Shine the Light law) with third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.
Nevada Residents: Under Nevada law, certain Nevada consumers may opt out of the sale of their “personally identifiable information” for monetary consideration to another person. We do not engage in such activity. However, if you are a Nevada resident who has purchased services from us, you may submit a request to opt out of any potential future sales under Nevada law by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line “Nevada Sale Opt-Out.” Please note we may take reasonable steps to verify your identity and the authenticity of the request. Once verified, we will maintain your request in the event our practices change.
